Japanese automaker, Toyota is preparing to launch its new infotainment system known simply as Entune. Initially it was set to debut in three 2012 models: The 2012 Camry, 2012 Tacoma, and the forthcoming 2012 Prius v. In their infinite wisdom, however, Toyota has opted to endow the 2012 Toyota 4Runner with the Entune system as well!
Why pick the Toyota 4runner to receive Toyota Entune? It actually makes perfect sense when you consider the 27-year-long history that Toyota shares with this model. It first began production in 1984, and since then it has evolved across five generations. In 2011 it was even named Most Dependable Midsize Crossover/SUV" by J.D. Power and Associates. So, for Toyota there is a high bar to surpass in the 2012 model year.
This is obviously something that has everyone at Motorcars Toyota quite thrilled. After all, the Toyota Entune system puts some of today's hottest apps at your fingertips, including Bing, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable, and Pandora. Add onto that, the fact that this new system can also safely stream important data, such as fuel prices, sports scores, stock info, traffic guides, and weather conditions, and it isn't hard to see why the demand for this new infotainment system is quickly growing.
We should note, however, that while the Toyota Entune system comes as a standard feature in the Limited grade trim level, it is an optional feature for the rest of the 2012 4Runner lineup. Other returning, optional tech features in the 2012 Toyota 4Runner include SiriusXM Satellite Radio; HD Radio, feautring iTunes tagging and text/e-mail-to-speech; a USB port for easy iPod connectivity; and Bluetooth wireless technology.
