Toyota Says "Surf's Up!" with New Tacoma Variant

Surfers are a different breed than most commuters. They require a wide range of utilities at their disposal, and no one knows this better than the people at Toyota, who recently teamed with Oakley and several other aftermarket parts suppliers to create a surfing-inspired variant of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma.

Officially dubbed the Oakley Surf Tacoma, the vehicle debuted on November 1st at the 2011 SEMA Show. Australian surfing pro, Tom Whitaker was on hand to discuss how the surfer's dream ride caters to the needs of wave riders around the world, and as such, Motorcars Toyota, serving the greater Cleveland area, would like to relay that information to you.

First there's the issue of space. Surfers have large boards to transport, and when traveling in a group that can turn into a daunting task. That's why the Oakley Surf Tacoma has been fitted with a massive roof rack/rear bed system that can store six to eight surf boards, depending on their size. Furthermore, an Oakley cargo net was added to organize storage, while custom access doors make removing equipment easy as can be.

The Oakley Surf Tacoma gives drivers the ability to pack whatever they need for a long day at the beach, and the storage cooler, barbecue grill, and Kicker sound system prove it. We, however, think that the most interesting addition to the Oakley Surf Tacoma is its integrated shower system, which is sure to come in handy after a long day of riding waves and partying on the beach.

Toyota didn't disclose whether or not its latest Tacoma creation would make it to production, but if it does, Motorcars Toyota in Cleveland promises you'll be the first to know.
